The Spirit is not an accessory to sanctification — He is the engine of it. Every part of holiness is something the Spirit initiates, sustains, and completes.
The Spirit Reveals Christ to Us
Sanctification begins with seeing Jesus clearly.
“He will glorify Me, for He will take what is Mine and declare it to you” (John 16:14).
The more the Spirit reveals Christ, the more our hearts are drawn to Him.
The Spirit Reshapes Our Desires
Holiness is not behaviour modification; it is desire transformation.
“It is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good pleasure” (Philippians 2:13).
The Spirit changes what we want, not just what we do.
The Spirit Empowers Obedience
God never commands what He does not empower.
“Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh” (Galatians 5:16).
Obedience is not the result of stronger willpower but deeper dependence.
The Spirit Produces Fruit, Not Pressure
The fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23) is not a list of virtues to achieve — it is the evidence of God’s life growing within us.
Holiness is not achieved by trying to be like Jesus; it is achieved by letting the Spirit form Jesus in us.
